Dear Mr Scrooge, by Niamh
Dear Mr. Scrooge,
Why are you so peevish? Why can’t you be contented and give to the poor people? If you weren’t so ungrateful, if you actually liked Christmas instead of loathing it, if you sorted your life out, then you could live a merry, joyous Christmas for once in your life.
However mean and manipulative you are Scrooge, everyone in town thinks you’re grumpy and ignorant. I hope you’re aware of your catastrophic behaviour in your past and as a senior citizen (if this offends you, it’s a taste of your own medicine)!
Despite the fact that I know you hate Christmas, there is so much to enjoy. Freezing, sub-zero snowball fights, the joy of waking up early in the morning and ripping open your presents, having Sunday dinner and meeting friends and family that you haven’t seen in years!
Yours sincerely,
Niamh

This is a great letter Niamh. I am reading A Christmas Carol at the moment with children in my school. It is a great book and we are recording ourselves reading it. Maybe you would like to record a section?

A brilliant argument, I just love this story and hope to see it performed over the holiday.
